Pinterest

When I first discovered Pinterest I was so excited.  What a perfect place to keep all of the wonderful ideas I see online.  Food ideas and recipes, craft / sewing ideas... love this.  I started pinning everything I thought was cool, cute, etc. Next thing I knew I had hundreds of things pinned and was way out of control. So I had to take a look at all of my pins and ask myself "are you really going to make that, or try that, or do that".  So needless to say, I got rid of a lot of pins.  Now the next thing that I will be doing is to actually doing, trying or making some of the items and if it was good or useful, or even bad,  then I will make my comments and either keep the pin or delete it. I will be sharing my feeling about it. That doesn't mean that someone else wouldn't like it ... it will just be my opinion.  If you think that you might have any suggestions on anything that I write about, by all means, feel free to comment on it. With that said I will post my first item I just tried.

Easy No-Bake Nutella Cheesecake

Ingredients:

• 2/3 cup Nutella
• 1 8 oz block Cream Cheese (room temp)
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 8 oz container non-dairy whipped topping (defrosted)
• 1 Oreo Cookie Pie Crust
• 1 bar chocolate (optional)

Instructions:

In a large bowl, mix Nutella and cream cheese together until well blended and smooth. Add vanilla extract. Fold in whipped topping until no white streaks are left. Pour into Oreo Pie crust. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Optional: Shave chocolate with veggie peeler on top of pie for garnish.

Being creative......

I have found that my passion for crafting have very much increased as I have gotten older.  I grew up with a very creative Mother who brought me into the world of sewing and crocheting. I have done both since I was about 10.  I did however drop a lot of that creativity when I started a family.  Between working and taking care of my family, I just did not have the time.  However as the children got older, I was able to get back into making things.  I dabbled in a lot of different things. Some of which I would sell at small craft shows.  My daughter even got into the creativity at a young age.

When my husband and I moved up to the country side from the big city (after all the kids were grown, moved out and started their adult lives) I found I had more time on my hands and got into more gardening as well.

My first love has always been crafts though and thanks to my daughter who started quilting, I found that my sewing machine has become my close friend and I taught myself how to make quilts.  There was a lot of trial and error, but between advice from my daughter and the wonderful world of the internet, I think I have gotten a understanding of what to do. With that I am dedicating this blog to all of my creative moments.

A quilt that I found for me to learn with was a rag quilt.  This is one that I made for my wonderful daughter-in-law.  I found, when making quilts, that I love putting flannel fabric on the back because that is the part that touches the body and it is soft.

BzzAgent Campaign

Not sure how many of you have heard of BzzAgent but BzzAgent is the leading social marketing company.  They put products in the hands of hundreds of thousands of real consumers and help them share their opinions about them with friends and family via reviews, Facebook posts, photos and videos, blog posts and more. When you get a product to try out it is called a campaign.

I just did a campaign for Curel Intensive Healing Cream.  I have areas, especially my elbows that are extremely dry and cracked and that was the first place I put the cream.  What an difference and after a few days of applying the cream a couple of times a day, my elbows were no longer cracked and felt so much softer.  

If you have extremely dry areas, you should try this, you won't be sorry.

Basic instructions for a waldorf doll
